Turkey Applies Some New Goals in Steel Strategy Plans:
Turkey’s Ministry of Science, Industry & Technology broadcasted new strategy and scientific project of iron and steel distribution. Steel section managers said the project is a significant step to achieve the production goals, and exporting country’s industry. Producing the productions with high additional value is a long-lasting perspective for Turkey’s industry.
The strategy follows five special purposes. The first aim in practical plan is the immediate adjustment of law and formal regulation for steel and iron section. According to this aim, energy costs of this industry are reduced during a short period. The second goal of the project is developing the production infrastructures in steel section and encouraging the usage of local products.
The third goal is solving the settlement of the related points to steel domestic and international commerce (such as credit insurances and tariffs). The fourth goal is the human resource development of steel section. The fifth goal is the research process improvement and qualities development.
The principal of Iron and Steel Producers Association of Turkey (DCUD), Yusuf Aslan stated that the project is an important action in steel section. About 14 million tons capacity of steel is useless in 2012, and the usage capacity is reduced to 72 percent. He pointed out that it’s an essential affair to remove burden from steel makers for competing other countries in markets.
The managing director of Steel Exporters Association of Turkey (CIO), Namik Ekinci said that he emphasizes the plan too. We are going to promote our exports up to 55 milliard dollars in 2023, in hundred anniversary of Republic of Turkey. We should increase our productions volume, products and exports limitation to access this purpose. We also need to find new markets. He emphasized that the strategy is an important step to reach this target.
